The Ramganga River, which is the lifeline of Jim Corbett Park, passing through the Corbett Dhikala Zone, the forest houses built on the banks of the river make life pleasant. Dhikala Zone Opens From 15th November To 15th June.

Whose booking starts from 2 months in advance. Due to the limited number of bookings, the demand for Dhikala has always been very high. Night stay is mandatory to visit Dhikala. Jim Corbett National Park is the only park in Asia where the facility of overnight stay is available. Dhikala, Surbaduli, Gairal is the most beautiful rest house on the riverbank in the Dhikala zone.

There are two ways to visit the Dhikala Zone of Jim Corbett National Park.

1- Dhikala Day Visit by Safari Canter – Jungle Safari Canter/Bus on sharing basis for a daily visit to Dhikala Zone twice a day with the duration of six hours in the morning and evening.

Staying in Dhikala, traveling in the jungle with a jeep safari is a different adventure. The first desire of tourists visiting Jim Corbett National Park is to stay overnight in Dhikala Due to the limited reservation and travel dates not according to booking, most of the tourists are deprived of visiting Dhikala Zone.

Tourists who wish to visit Jim Corbett’s Dhikala should book their Dhikala booking in advance of 2 months from the date of travel so that the chances of getting a booking in Dhikala are 100%.

A very good restaurant is there for tourists. The restaurant serves vegetarian buffet meals with a good choice of quality foods. A small Canteen is also available for the visitors which is only permissible for breakfast

DHIKALA FRH

Dhikala renowned for its panoramic landscape is located at the edge of the Patli Dun valley, along the Ramganga with the Kanda ridge as a backdrop. The heritage building of the old FRH built in 1890’s.Though it was one of the first accommodation facility to be constructed inside the park, staff did not live here during the monsoons till 1963 since it was highly infested with malaria. The ground floor was used as the DFO office and the top floor for accommodation of the forest officers. It has the unique distinction of being the venue for the launch of the “Project Tiger”. Subsequently after 1975, Dhikala was formally opened and accommodation increased due to sudden boost in tourism. Apart from the old FRH building several other kinds of accommodation have also been added. The complex is a complete entity in itself with restaurants, nature guides, jeep safaris, a well stocked library, movie shows in the evening and walking tracks. A post office is available to share experience from the park with letters. Watchtowers located nearby provide excellent view of the entire Ramganga riverbed and the magnificent chaurs.permissible
